In-line drinking water treatment at Dalby Hospital (QLD)

In a true in-line treatment, the water is treated by passing through a treatment unit: there is no recirculation and for this reason the treatment units must be able to handle even significant flow rates.

Mains water is supplied to the hospital via two meters: the one located off Swan Street serves the majority of the hospital (estimated peak flow rate of ∼10 L/s), whilst the second, very close to Hospital Road, is mainly dedicated to the maternity ward (estimated peak flow rate of ∼6 L/s).

The desired chlorine production at the meters is approximately 2 mg/L.
