Toowoomba Hospital – Darling Downs Health (QLD)

Toowoomba Hospital is Darling Downs Health’s largest reporting hospital. It is a 320-bed hospital providing a wide range of services: primarily outpatient care, including specialist medical and surgical outpatient services, and acute inpatient care. A first eBooster™ system (consisting of two B2k units) has been operational in the Medical Block since August 2021; a second system (consisting of a single B2k unit) has been operational in the Surgical Block since January 2023.

Both systems (installed by Aquastream Water Solutions) operate by recirculation (with storage tanks) managed by a residual chlorine meter, targeting a FAC content of ∼1.7 mg/L.

Dalby Hospital – Darling Downs Health (QLD)

Dalby Hospital offers maternity, surgical, accident and emergency, palliative care and renal dialysis services. It is a 43-bed hospital. Clinics available include fracture, paediatric, surgical outpatients, medical imaging and more. Two eBooster™ systems (each consisting of a B10k unit and associated switchboard) are installed at the water meters that supply the hospital since June/August 2023.

Both systems (installed by Aquastream Water Solutions) operate in line (no recirculation) based on the water flow rate, regulating the current supplied to the electrolytic units so that they produce approximately 1.5 mg/L of residual chlorine.

Tara Hospital – Darling Downs Health (QLD)

Tara’s new single-storey hospital has recently been rebuilt on the existing hospital campus to provide a full range of services, including emergency care, palliative care, a 14-bed inpatient unit and comprehensive adult mental health, clinical and outreach services.   The project included the demolition of the existing hospital facility and construction of the new hospital with consult rooms, kitchen, morgue, X-ray, and administrative facilities. An eBooster™ system (consisting of a single B2k unit and related switchboard) was installed in November 2024 and went into operation on December 4th. In the period up to 17/03/2025, it ran for 2,271 hours consuming about 0.05 kWh/d.

The system (installed by Aquastream Water Solutions) operates by recirculation (with two 5kL storage tanks) managed by a residual chlorine meter; the target FAC content is ∼1.5 mg/L.

Milmerran Hospital – Darling Downs Health (QLD)

The Millmerran hospital is part of the Multipurpose Health Service and of a recent $1 billion+ Building Rural and Remote Health Program focused on the replacement of ageing hospitals around Queensland. The new facility will comprise 8-bed inpatient unit, 5-bed residential aged care space, and acute and non-acute spaces.

A pre-assembled, skid-mounted eBooster™ system (consisting of two B2k units operated by a control panel that includes a residual chlorine meter) was delivered to Aquastream Water Solutions in November 2024, and became operational in May 2025.

 

Normanton Hospital – Darling Downs Health (QLD)

Normanton Hospital has 14 acute beds, 2 palliative/respite beds, and a 24/7 emergency department. An eBooster™ system (comprising two B2k units installed in parallel and operated by a single control panel) was installed by Aquastream Water Solutions in a recirculation configuration (with a storage tank), managed by a residual chlorine meter. The target FAC content is approximately 1.4 mg/L and the system became operational in June 2025.

Endotoxin Reduction in Central Sterile Supply Departments (CSSDs)

In early May 2022, three B250 reactors were installed by Aquastream Water Solutions in the recirculation loop of the RO permeate storage tanks at three hospital locations, replacing the existing UV disinfection system. The hospitals involved were:

  • North Lakes Day Hospital, Moreton Bay (QLD).
  • Somerset Private Hospital, Penrith (NSW).
  • Toowoomba Surgicentre, Toowoomba (QLD).

South Australian Aquatic Sciences Centre (SAASC)

The South Australian Aquatic Sciences Centre (SAASC) is a purpose-built marine and freshwater research facility that conducts a wide range of activities to investigate and understand the fisheries and aquaculture industries of South Australia, as well as the temperate ecosystems in which they operate.

In a recent infrastructure upgrade, the four 70 kg chlorine gas cylinders previously in use were replaced with a new eBooster™ system, designed to eliminate manual chlorine dosing and reduce the risks associated with storing chlorine gas cylinders near a caravan park and children’s playgrounds. The upgraded infrastructure consists of four B10k units manifolded together on a marine-grade stainless-steel skid, designed to meet a flow rate of 45 liters per second.
